Description: First-time travelers are welcome. An auto offer will be provided with 7 days of PTO or less. Holiday PTO must be approved by unit manager. Candidates are required to pass the DYS exam prior to accepting the position. Two attempts are allowed; if failed, a 6-month DNU will apply. Traveling teams must have their own vehicles. Candidates must have natural hair color and no facial piercings. Men must be clean-shaven for the fit test. A pass/fail exam will be conducted on Day 1 of orientation, details to follow. All RNs will be expected to complete a SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes. Nurses must maintain a sterile field during these procedures. Competence in these areas is essential, as they are frequently performed skills. Additional educational components will cover lifts, restraints, and wound care. Barrow Neurological Institute is recognized as a leading institution for neurological disease treatment and research. The ICU has a capacity of 32 beds. The nurse to patient ratio will be 1:2. Common diagnoses include critical care patients with neurological conditions. The facility performs surgeries such as craniotomies, brain tumor removals, and complicated spine surgeries. Strong neuro assessment skills and ICP monitoring experience are mandatory. The hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts during the 13-week assignment. Charting is completed using Cerner. A BSN is not required.
