Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Every Other Weekend Coverage Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to a hematology, medical oncology, bone marrow transplant (BMT), and gynecologic and surgical oncology population
• Maintain a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio within a specialized oncology unit, including a 7-bed positive pressure wing for BMT and acute leukemia patients
• Assist with bedside CVC placements and bone marrow biopsies
• Administer medications using barcode medication administration and Epic-integrated Alaris IV pumps
• Float to other units as required per facility policy
• Participate in emergency response team assignments as directed by unit management during declared emergency events

Required Qualifications

• Active Compact or Louisiana RN license in hand at time of submittal
• Minimum 2 years of experience in oncology or related specialty
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA required)
• Proficiency with Epic EMR
• Must reside more than 65 miles from the facility (address on driver's license used for verification)
• Two manager or supervisor references required prior to start (Charge RN references not accepted); NURSYS report required and must be current within 4 weeks of submission

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) certification preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience welcomed; first-time travelers encouraged to apply
• Familiarity with Alaris feeding pumps and SCD machines
