Atrius Health, part of the Optum family, is seeking a Gastroenterologist to join their innovative health care leader and multi-specialty group practice. This role involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients requiring specialized care within a team-based model. The successful candidate will collaborate with primary and specialty care providers, hospital partners, community specialists, and skilled nursing facilities to deliver high-quality, evidence-based medicine to a diverse patient population in eastern Massachusetts. Practice Info Part of an innovative health care leader and multi-specialty group practice Delivering an effective, connected system of care for adult and pediatric patients 28 practice locations in eastern Massachusetts Team of providers (physicians, AP/NPs and ancillary clinicians) works collaboratively with a value-based philosophy Works with hospitals, rehab and nursing facilities Team-based model where primary and specialty care providers join with hospital partners, community specialists, and skilled nursing facilities Responsibilities Performs physical assessments on patients with specialized conditions Develop and implement a plan of care for these patients, as well as prescribe medications, exercises and/or other treatments Collaborates with the clinical and administrative teams in the management of patient care Maintaining continuity of care through the exchange of information with outside health and social agencies Serves as a liaison between primary care providers and specialists such as general surgeons, urologists, orthopedic and ENT surgeons Consults with primary care providers on issues related to patient care Teaches and counsels individuals and groups with regard to specific health care needs Serves as an educator in areas of specialization Compensation Compensation for this specialty generally ranges from $386,500 to $757,500 Total cash compensation includes base pay and bonus Compensation is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience and may increase over time based on productivity and performance xmvmafu in the role Benefits Comprehensive benefits package Incentive and recognition programs Equity stock purchase 401k contribution Requirements Graduate of an accredited Medical School or School of Osteopathic Medicine Board Certified or Board Certified Eligible in Gastroenterology Current active DEA licensure/prescriptive authority or ability to obtain post-hire, per state regulations Current active Mass DPH Controlled Substances Registration or ability to obtain post-hire, per state regulations American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Preferred: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required based on specialty
