Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

As a Physician Assistant, you will undertake a variety of tasks daily, including but not limited to:

• Conducting comprehensive patient assessments by gathering detailed medical histories to facilitate precise diagnosis and effective treatment planning.
• Closely collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to create integrated care plans tailored to each patient’s needs.
• Performing thorough physical examinations and interpreting diagnostic tests to derive appropriate treatment plans.
• Administering vaccinations and medications, educating patients on preventive health measures, as well as lifestyle modifications to optimize health.
• Monitoring chronic conditions, making necessary adjustments to care protocols, and coordinating specialty referrals when required.
• Documenting all patient encounters accurately and promptly using the EPIC EMR system, ensuring compliance with best practices and legal standards.
• Participating actively in quality improvement initiatives, continual education, and staying abreast of advancements in family medicine.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• A graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Active PA Certification and a valid NY state license.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Physician Assistant, showcasing a solid foundation of clinical skills.
• Proficiency in both written and verbal communication, with excellent critical thinking and effective decision-making abilities.

Preferred Experience

While 1 year of experience as a Physician Assistant is required, candidates with additional experience or those who have completed a Master's Degree in Physician Assistance are preferred. Familiarity with EPIC EMR systems will be advantageous.
