Staff Accountant

Overview Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their growing team. This position will support core accounting functions, assist with month-end close, and help ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare and post journal entries and maintain the general ledger Assist with month-end and year-end close processes Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed Prepare financial reports and assist with variance analysis Maintain accurate financial records and documentation Assist with audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and policies Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 1-3+ years of accounting experience (internship experience considered) Strong understanding of basic accounting principles (GAAP) Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems (ERP experience a plus) Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities Preferred Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics) Public accounting or internship experience CPA or CPA track is a plus Benefits Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors, including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
