Northern Shore Capital | Behavioral Health / Psychiatry Platform

Northern Shore Capital is seeking an experienced COO / Operations Leader to support the buildout and growth of a behavioral health / psychiatry platform within our private equity portfolio.

This is a unique opportunity for a hands-on, strategic operator to help build and scale the operational infrastructure of a growing healthcare services organization. The role will partner closely with Northern Shore Capital, the platform CEO, clinical leadership, and other functional leaders to establish scalable processes, drive performance, support acquisition integration, and build the infrastructure required to grow a multi-site behavioral health platform.

The ideal candidate will combine strong healthcare operations experience with a builder mentality. This individual should be comfortable developing strategy while remaining close to execution, using data to identify opportunities, creating accountability, and establishing repeatable processes that can scale across locations and markets.

Key Areas of Impact

Build & Scale Operations

• Establish and refine the operating infrastructure required to support a growing multi-site behavioral health platform.

• Develop standardized workflows, operating procedures, performance expectations, and management routines across locations.
\n
• Identify operational gaps and implement scalable solutions that improve consistency, efficiency, and patient experience.
\n
• Build an operating model capable of supporting both organic growth and acquisition-driven expansion.
\n
• Partner with leadership to ensure the appropriate organizational structure, staffing, and resources are in place as the platform grows.

Drive Operational Performance

\n
• Develop and monitor operational KPIs across locations, providers, and service lines.
\n
• Improve visibility into provider productivity, patient access, scheduling, utilization, capacity, and location-level performance.
\n
• Identify performance gaps and partner with local and functional leaders to develop and execute improvement plans.
\n
• Establish regular operating reviews and accountability processes tied to key priorities.
\n
• Translate operational data into actionable recommendations for leadership.
\n

Strengthen Provider & Clinical Operations

\n
• Partner with clinical leadership to support provider scheduling, capacity management, and workforce planning.
\n
• Improve patient access while optimizing provider utilization and productivity.
\n
• Support recruiting, onboarding, retention, and workforce planning initiatives in partnership with clinical and talent leadership.
\n
• Develop operating processes that support a consistent patient and provider experience across the organization.
\n
• Balance operational efficiency with clinical quality, compliance, and patient care priorities.
\n

Support Growth & Market Expansion

• Partner with leadership to evaluate opportunities for new locations, services, and markets.
\n
• Develop operational plans for de novo locations and other growth initiatives.
\n
• Support market launches, including staffing, workflows, systems, training, and performance monitoring.
\n
• Ensure new locations and services are integrated into the platform’s operating model and performance expectations.
\n

Lead M&A & Integration

\n
• Participate in operational diligence for potential acquisitions and partnerships.
\n
• Assess organizational structure, staffing models, workflows, systems, operational performance, and integration requirements.
\n
• Lead or support post-close operational integration.
\n
• Standardize key processes, reporting, systems, and performance expectations across acquired practices and locations.
\n
• Partner with leadership to establish and execute post-close priorities and integration plans.
\n

Build Scalable Systems & Infrastructure

\n
• Evaluate and improve operational systems related to scheduling, patient access, practice management, workforce management, reporting, and communication.
\n
• Partner with technology and functional leaders to improve data visibility and operational reporting.
\n
• Develop scalable SOPs, playbooks, and management processes that can be applied across the organization.
\n
• Identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and improve processes as the platform grows.
\n

Ideal Candidate Profile

\n
• Progressive healthcare operations leadership experience, ideally at the Director, Vice President, COO, or comparable level.
\n
• Experience within behavioral health, psychiatry, physician practice management, healthcare services, or another multi-site provider organization is strongly preferred.
\n
• Private equity-backed, founder-led, or high-growth healthcare experience preferred.
\n
• Demonstrated experience building, improving, or scaling multi-site operations.
\n
• Strong understanding of provider-based healthcare operations, including scheduling, patient access, provider productivity, utilization, and workforce planning.
\n
• Experience developing and managing operational KPIs and performance dashboards.
\n
• Demonstrated ability to standardize processes while maintaining appropriate flexibility at the local level.
\n
• Experience supporting acquisitions, integrations, new locations, or market expansion is highly valuable.
\n
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into operational action.
\n
• Proven ability to lead through change and create accountability across teams.
\n
• Strong communication and executive presence with the ability to partner effectively with CEOs, clinicians, investors, and functional leaders.
\n
• Hands-on leadership style with the ability to move comfortably between strategic priorities and detailed execution.
