Job Description

Summary:

The HR Director, Commercial serves as the primary strategic Human Resources Business Partner for the Commercial organization, supporting Sales, Commercial Excellence, Category Management, and Pricing functions across all four company Business Units. Reporting to the Senior Director, Human Resources, this role partners with business leaders to drive talent strategies, employee engagement, organizational effectiveness, performance management, succession planning, and the successful implementation of company initiatives.

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with business leaders to align people strategies with commercial objectives, driving organizational effectiveness and business performance.

• Provide strategic and tactical HR guidance on employee relations matters, ensuring fair, consistent, and legally compliant resolution of workplace issues.

• Partner with Commercial leaders and Talent Acquisition to develop and execute recruiting strategies that meet current and future talent needs.

• Partner with Compensation to ensure employee pay is equitable, market competitive, and aligned with retention objectives.

• Lead and support performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, coaching, talent assessments, and development planning.

• Facilitate succession planning and talent review activities to identify, develop, and retain high-potential employees and future leaders.

• Drive the implementation and adoption of company-wide HR initiatives, programs, and policies across the Commercial organization.

• Ensure consistency in the application of HR practices, policies, and processes across all four Business Units while balancing business-specific needs.

• Partner with leaders to support organizational design, workforce planning, change management, and employee engagement initiatives.

• Utilize people data and organizational insights to identify trends, recommend solutions, and support business decision-making.

• Participate in cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives as the HR representative and Commercial stakeholder to ensure alignment between business objectives and people strategies.

• Build trusted relationships with leaders at all levels, providing coaching, challenge, and guidance to drive accountability and business results.

• Promote and reinforce company culture, values, and leadership expectations throughout the Commercial organization.

• Provide hands-on HR support, including processing employee transactions and supporting daily HR operations as needed.

Candidate Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field required.

• Minimum of 10 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including HR Business Partner responsibilities supporting senior leaders.

• Prior experience supporting a commercial organization is preferred.

• Demonstrated expertise in employee relations, performance management, talent management, succession planning, organizational effectiveness, and change management.

• Proven ability to build strong, credible relationships and influence leaders at all levels of the organization.

• Ability to appropriately challenge, influence, and provide constructive pushback to leaders while maintaining collaborative partnerships.

• Strong business acumen with the ability to understand organizational priorities and translate them into effective HR strategies.

• Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict-resolution capabilities.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficiency with HRIS systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications. Experience with Workday is preferred.

• Ability to occasionally travel to support business needs, as required.

A reasonable estimate of the current range is $160,000-$200,000 + bonus + benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. At Novolex, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
