Litigation Attorney

Byrd & Byrd, LLC is seeking an experienced litigation attorney to join our established and growing law firm in Bowie, Maryland. We are looking for a confident advocate with Maryland Circuit Court litigation and trial experience who is capable of independently managing a diverse litigation caseload from inception through trial. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who enjoys courtroom advocacy, direct client contact, strategic case management, and working as part of a collaborative team of experienced attorneys. Responsibilities Handle litigation matters from initial case evaluation through trial and post-trial proceedings. Appear regularly in Maryland Circuit Courts for motions hearings, scheduling conferences, settlement conferences, and trials. Take and defend depositions. Draft and argue dispositive and evidentiary motions. Conduct legal research and prepare persuasive pleadings, memoranda, and appellate-quality briefs. Manage discovery, expert witnesses, mediation, and settlement negotiations. Maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and strategic guidance. Qualifications Minimum of three years of civil litigation experience. Demonstrated Maryland Circuit Court trial experience is required. Candidates should have first-chair or significant second-chair trial experience. Excellent courtroom advocacy and oral argument skills. Strong legal writing, analytical, and research abilities. Ability to independently manage a busy litigation docket. Excellent organizational, time management, and client communication skills. Admission to the Maryland Bar is required.
