In this position, you will: Help program participants achieve/exceed their personal goals; Provide structure and emotional support; Assist in resolving behavioral issues; Help people supported with personal hygiene; Transport the people supported to and from volunteer and pre-vocational activities using Agency vehicles. We require: High School Diploma or equivalent required. One-year experience in OPWDD field required. Two (2) years of ACLD experience preferred. Complete (within 90 days of hire) and maintain required training in SCIP (Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention) Restrictive Certification, CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation), First Aid, and AED (Automated External Defibrillator). Obtain (within 180 days of hire) and maintain AMAP (Approved Medication Administration Personnel). The ability to assist with lifting and transferring a person. Ability to communicate and understand in English; both verbally and in writing. Clean valid NYS driver's license. Ability to apply common sense understanding, to carry out detailed written or oral instruction.
