Rn, Community Health Nurse (full-time)

Job Summary Avera Queen of Peace Hospital offers a Registered Nurse (RN) position. Shift start time is 7:15 am, with a rotation every 6th weekend/holiday and call schedule. Responsibilities Develop a nursing diagnosis; establish nursing care objectives; define nursing interventions. Provide physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends to help them understand patient conditions, medications, and self‑care skills. Review physician prescriptions, communicate the nursing care plan and all pertinent information to other members of the health care team, and coordinate with other healthcare providers. Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records. Maintain safe, secure, and healthy patient care environment by adhering to infection‑control policies and protocols; medication administration and storage procedures; and controlled substance regulations. Keep patient care equipment operating by following operating instructions and established procedures; ensure supplies are stocked. Maintain competence in nursing capabilities, as outlined by leadership. Perform each essential job function satisfactorily, including visual acuity adequate for position duties and the ability to communicate effectively with others. Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) with an active Board of Nursing license in the state of practice. Upon hire, ability to perform essential job functions as described.
