Part Time Business Operations Coordinator – Chicago IL Job Description: The Business Operations Coordinator provides transactional support for finance, operations, and administrative functions, including budget monitoring, daily finance transactions, vendor relationships, facilities management, fleet management, HR, IT, and records/reports. The role reports to the Chief Operating Officer or Chief Administrative Officer and serves as the lead system user and trainer for software business applications. The position is not eligible for relocation assistance. Key Responsibilities Support facilities and asset management: ensure repairs are completed within budget, manage vendor relationships, obtain proposals, manage risk management system entries, and provide business plan information for real estate transactions. Provide administrative budget support: expense coding, dissemination of financial reports, analysis of monthly forecasting, initiation and approval of regional procurement transactions, and establishment of cash and card transaction processes. Lead system user and training for business applications and IT services, troubleshoot phone and computer issues, and assist with tech service requests. Maintain insurance certificate applications, financial collection processes, and regulated item forms for alcohol and other supplies to support event planning. Provide guidance and data for grant reports and respond to internal and external information requests. Develop, maintain, and distribute a regional Standard Operating Procedures Manual to ensure consistent operations processes across the region. Coordinate and train volunteers for less complex daily transactional work. Minimum Qualifications Education: High School diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree in Accounting, Business or Public Administration preferred. Experience: Minimum 3 years of financial or facilities administrative support in community organizations, government agencies, non‑profit organizations, or business. Skills & Abilities: Teamwork, prioritization, organization, attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, and proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Travel: Required throughout the Region with some travel outside the Region. Physical Requirements: Regularly required to use hands to handle objects, lift and move up to 50 lbs, operate hand tools, and perform tasks such as pushing carts, standing, walking, and climbing ladders as necessary. Pay Information $20.00 – $21.15 per hour (Illinois). Salary determined by position, experience, and geographic location.
