Job Description Summary Organization's Summary Statement:

The Program Coordinator for the Schanwald Sports Management Program plays a key role in
supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of program operations and strategic
initiatives. Working closely with the Program Director, the Coordinator serves as a primary point of contact for students ensuring effective communication and alignment across all program stakeholders. The role also contributes to marketing and recruitment efforts by supporting outreach strategies, managing program materials, and coordinating engagement initiatives.
This position requires the ability to prioritize competing demands, proactively identify and resolve
operational challenges, and implement processes that enhance program effectiveness. Through a
high level of organization, professionalism, and attention to detail, the Coordinator supports a
student-centered environment and contributes to the continued growth and success of the
program. This position assists in the coordination of outreach and programming efforts of a department.

EXAMPLES OF WORK:
Engages in programmatic, outreach, and marketing efforts.
Collaborates with campus, community partners, and the wider community.
Maintains program records.
Coordinates support for outreach and programming efforts to include but not limited to advertising/recruitment, participant registration, and providing event coordination.
Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: One (1) year of professional program, outreach, or event coordination experience.

Other: Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

Knowledge of outreach and marketing strategies.
Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures and systems such as filing and record-keeping.
Skill in oral and written communication.
Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products.
Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments.

Preferences:

Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and professional correspondence. Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with students, faculty, staff, and external partners. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and social media platforms; familiarity with Canva or similar content creation tools preferred. Ability to work independently and collaboratively, exercise sound judgment, and maintain professionalism in all interactions. Commitment to supporting student success, experiential learning, and the mission of the Schanwald Sports Management Program.
