Endoscopy Technician (Full Time)

Responsible for rendering professional care to patients undergoing surgical procedures within the Center, in accordance with established procedures. Functions cooperatively with physicians and team members exhibiting teamwork characteristics. May be responsible for ensuring proper care and use of instruments and equipment. May transport patients to and from procedure room. Assists with cleanliness of procedure room area and assists with room turnover.

Depending on experience, the pay range is between $25-$30/hr. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, BLS certification, and one (1) year experience as an endoscopy technologist (preferred).

Essential duties and responsibilities include assisting in preparing patients for designated procedures, assisting physicians during endoscopy procedures, handling patient specimens per policy, accurately completing laboratory slips and culture/path slips, reporting observed changes in patient condition to the Endoscopy/Recovery Room nurse, restocking supplies after procedures, working collaboratively with the healthcare team to prepare the endoscopy suite, ensuring high level disinfection and/or sterility of instruments and supplies, following manufacturer's instructions for use for all steps of cleaning, high level disinfection or sterilization for instruments and/or equipment, cleaning the endoscopy suite between cases and daily terminal cleaning, maintaining adequate inventory of supplies, participating in QAPI and Safety Programs, demonstrating knowledge of and adherence to the Code of Conduct, complying with center policies and procedures, demonstrating a caring, respectful, sensitive, tactful, compassionate, empathetic, and tolerant attitude, providing a safe environment for the patient, communicating safety concerns appropriately, legibly documenting when necessary, promoting patient and physician satisfaction, practicing appropriate aseptic techniques and sterile processes, wearing appropriate Personal Protected Equipment (PPE), observing universal precautions, referring situations beyond ability or function to the proper person, maintaining regular and predictable attendance, and performing other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
