Senior Principal Engineer, Plastics Molding — Pharmaceutical Manufacturing & Medical Devices

Senior Principal Engineer providing enterprise-level technical leadership for plastic injection and blow molding technologies in pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing. Leads complex engineering projects across the product and process lifecycle, partnering with internal teams and external suppliers to develop robust, compliant, and scalable molding solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead medium to large molding engineering projects from concept through validation and sustained support
- Develop injection and blow molding solutions meeting product, process, quality, cost, and regulatory requirements
- Provide technical direction on equipment, tooling, automation, resin selection, and manufacturing readiness
- Conduct risk assessments, manage lifecycle costs, and communicate recommendations to management
- Support supplier selection, performance management, and technical issue resolution for molds and equipment
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, or related field
- 8-10 years engineering/operational experience in pharmaceutical, medical device, or regulated industry
- 3+ years plastic injection molding and/or blow molding design and process support
- Knowledge of molding equipment, plastics processes, resins, tooling, SPC, and regulatory/ISO requirements
- Experience with FMEA, DOE, dimensional analysis, FAT, validation, design controls, and metrology
- Proficiency with CAD platforms (SolidWorks, Creo/ProE, AutoCAD) and CNC/EDM equipment familiarity
