Journeyperson E&I Technician

Responsibilities Perform calibration of instrument systems, documenting the calibration on PM work orders Troubleshoot and repair electrical components Troubleshoot and repair instrument systems Maintain actuated valves including removal/installation of valves, rebuilding valves, and adjusting limit switches, actuators and positioners Install new electrical and instrumentation systems, including running conduit, pulling wire, installing devices, terminating wires, and checking the system for startup Perform basic troubleshooting of programmable logic controllers (PLC’s) and distributed control systems (DCS’s) Read and comprehend plant documentation such as circuit sets, loop sheets, one-line diagrams, and vendor maintenance and installation manuals Qualifications High School Diploma or GED 4 years of experience working as an Electrical and/or Instrumentation Technician in an industrial environment Journeyman's certificate Completion of a 2‑yr Associate’s degree in Instrumentation or a related field (preferred) Knowledge of PLC & DCS systems, motors, power & control circuits, electronic & pneumatic field instrumentation (preferred) Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to read instrument & electrical diagrams (preferred) Strong applied knowledge in Electrical, Instrumentation and basic general maintenance (preferred) Knowledge of intrinsically safe design, power circuits (motors), variable frequency drives (ABB), power distribution, industrial instrumentation, and basic understanding of DCS & PLC programming (preferred) Experience utilizing a CMMS with a thorough understanding of electrical safety requirements (preferred) Knowledge of and experience in reliability programs (preferred) Ashland is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer Minorities/Women/Veterans/Disabled/Gender Identity/Sexual Orientation.
