Staff Accountant

Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. This role is responsible for supporting treasury operations, cash management, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment. Essential Duties Manage and maintain the Treasury inbox, ensuring timely and professional communication and resolution of inquiries Perform daily and periodic reconciliation of store sales, deposits, and cash transactions Reconcile multiple bank accounts and investigate, research, and resolve discrepancies Execute banking activities, including payment uploads, approvals, and transaction processing Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and general ledger account reconciliations Support the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness Analyze general ledger activity and research GAAP-related issues as needed Review profit and loss accounts to ensure proper expense classification and identify variances Track and report on specific expense categories and vendor activity Prepare and distribute cash flow and accounts payable reports to internal stakeholders Reconcile store deposits, bank transactions, and financial system data for accuracy and completeness Perform account reconciliations for utilities, landscaping, and other operational expenses, including accruals Import and validate financial data within ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics GP/Great Plains) Communicate effectively with internal teams, vendors, and external partners to resolve issues Collaborate with team members and support cross‑functional accounting activities Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in accountingor related field, or equivalent work experience (minimum 5 years in accounting) Minimum of 2 years of experience in month‑end close and account reconciliations Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) or similar Experience with cash management and treasury functions preferred Preferred Qualifications Experience in multi‑location or retail environments Familiarity with high‑volume transaction processing Exposure to GAAP compliance and financial reporting Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills High attention to detail and accuracy Ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines Self‑starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team Effective written and verbal communication skills Professional approach to internal and external customer interactions Americans with Disability Specifications Physical Demands – The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
