Fort Cavazos is a major Army installation located in Central Texas between Killeen and Copperas Cove. It is a notable training site for heavy forces and hosts two Armored Divisions. Responsibilities Provide leadership and technical direction to subordinate staff in the Medical Evaluation Board (MEB) Outpatient Clinic. Conduct comprehensive reviews of medical records, orders, diagnostic tests and x‑rays, and ancillary tests; use sound clinical judgment to arrange specialty consultation. Dictate comprehensive narrative summaries incorporating consultant contributions and opinions. Assess community and patient population needs, mission requirements, and service resources to plan, implement, and provide a wide array of outpatient and inpatient services. Coordinate with other physicians (family practitioners, general psychiatrists, etc.) to evaluate and reconcile conflicting medical evidence for complex cases.

Conditions of Employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination following a background investigation. A Personnel Security Investigation is required. Applicants may be required to sign a statement consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or obtain a recognized exemption. This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to pre‑employment screening and random drug testing; consent to drug urinalysis testing is required. A pre‑placement medical examination may be required. Immunization screening may be required; Hepatitis B immunization is mandatory for all positions with direct patient contact. Proof of other required immunizations may be requested. Applicants may need to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification via the American Red Cross or American Heart Association; Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS. A valid stateside driver’s license may be required. Applicants must meet credentialing requirements and obtain appropriate clinical privileges. Tuberculosis testing may be required. Additional requirements may be communicated during the hiring process if you are selected. Qualifications US Citizenship required. Basic Requirement for Supervisory Physician (Medical Evaluation Board): Degree: Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from a U.S. or Canadian medical school accredited by the Council on Medical Education (AAMC, LCME, AOAC, or a U.S. Department of Education recognized accrediting body). A foreign‑educated M.D. must demonstrate equivalence via ECFMG certification, a fifth‑pathway certificate, or successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination. Licensure: Current, active, full, and unrestricted physician license or registration from a U.S. state, District of Columbia, Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or U.S. territory. Graduate Training: At least one year of supervised experience in a clinical setting post‑medical school (e.g., internship or first year of residency). Experience/Training: Minimum five years of graduate training in the specialty of the position or equivalent experience and training. Salary Information: Salary will be determined after acceptance of the initial offer through the Activity Compensation Panel.
