Inventory Specialist Job Summary TheInventory SpecialistwilltosupportourGovernmentcustomerssupply chain operations across VAlocations. This roleis responsible forthemovement, receipt, staging, storage, and organization of supplies to ensure efficient, compliant, andaccurateinventory flow.Inventory Specialists play a vital role inmaintainingoperational readiness by supportingtimelyreceiving, proper storage practices, andaccuratedistribution in alignmentwithVA procedures. Functions and Responsibilities Receive, unload, and move incoming supplies and materials using Government-furnished equipment (e.g., carts, pallet jacks, bins, scanners) when authorized. Break down pallets and prepare materials for storage or distribution. Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and other documentation. Identifyand report visible damage, discrepancies in quantities, ordocumentationinconsistencies. Stage supplies for storage and distribution to ensure efficient workflow. Maintain clean, organized, and compliant storage areasin accordance withGovernment standards. Supportaccurateinventory tracking and supply flow across VASDHS locations. Utilize inventory management systems and Microsoft Office tools to document and track inventory activities. Follow all established safety, OSHA, and HAZMAT handling procedures. Education and Experience Required Minimum of 2 years of experience in supply, warehouse, or inventory management. Proficiencyand fluency in the English language (written and verbal). Experience with inventory management systems and general warehouse workflows. Proficiencyin Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Ability to follow structured processes andcomply withGovernment and PWS requirements. Preferred Experience supporting Federal or Governmentlogisticsoperations. Familiarity with barcode scanning systems and warehouse automation tools. Experience working in healthcare or high-volume distribution environments. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to push up to 100 lbs. using carts or similar conveyance. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods. Ability tooperatematerial handling equipment, as applicable. Compliance Requirements Must comply with all safety and HAZMAT handling requirements. Must be able to obtain and maintain required Government system access and training. Ability to pass background checks and meet contract-specific requirements, as applicable.
