Pharmacy Technician DutiesProvide guidance on pharmacy and administrative-related issues to staff.Process medication orders using computerized order entry.Extract pertinent data from patient charts for consultations with patient or hospital staff.Monitor patient charts or laboratory data to identify or resolve drug order problems.Ensure prescribed medications dispensed conform to legal and hospital requirements.Prepare manufactured items, including cytotoxic drugs, parenteral nutrition, and intravenous admixtures, in accordance with applicable policies and procedures.Dispense prescriptions, special formulas, extemporaneous compounds, and special preparations for other therapeutics according to professional and military standards.Advise patients on the correct use of their medication.Educate staff members on operations and policies of the pharmacy department and current drug information.
