Analyst duties consist of determining and implementing rates for insurance products, analyzing and projecting drivers of loss trends, developing and enhancing new insurance products, and much more! Our Analysts are motivated, self-driven, and excellent analytical thinkers. As a Pricing Analyst, you can expect to work closely with our partners in Product Management and Actuarial Reserving. Your active participation in profitability analysis will drive business decision-making, ensuring company and line of business success.Actuarial designation pursuit is not required, but candidates pursuing an actuarial designation will be supported.How You’ll Make a DifferenceAnalytical Pricing Work:Develop and prepare statistical analyses of underwriting or claims experience, which serve as the basis of ratemaking or management information reportsConduct rate reviews, create filings, and implement rate changes for a variety of segments of our businessStakeholder Partnership:Develop and present analysis and proposals to various stakeholder groupsDevelop relationships with product management and learn business strategyProcess Improvement:Develop and improve tools to streamline processes and drive improvements in analyticsCareer Development:As a Pricing Analyst you will gain the following:Strong foundation in actuarial pricing, building a balanced skillset in analytics, technical prowess, strategic thinking, and leadership abilities.A long career path with options to specialize in pricing, product, or R&D.Peer and managerial support, with feedback and coaching plans tailored to your goals.A support network of senior leaders within GEICO’s organization.What We’re Looking ForExperience & Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, Math, Actuarial Science, Econ, Statistics, Data/Business Analytics, or other relevant quantitative field of study OR Bachelor’s degree in any field of study plus prior experience / internship with quantitative analytics; degree obtained by May 2027Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (please upload ALL transcripts as part of the application process)Must live within commutable distance from our Bethesda, MD office and work a hybrid scheduleCore Skills:Proven analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilitiesHighly effective communication and collaboration skillsIntermediate to advanced skills in ExcelBasic to intermediate proficiency with data analysis software like R, SAS, Python, or Power BIAbility to work independently and build ownership over projectsAbility to handle multiple concurrent priorities, providing accurate and timely resultsIntellectual curiosity to learn and ability to ask insightful questionsEffective time management, attention to detail, and organizational skillsPreferred SkillsPrevious internship experience in similar fields or businesses a plusAnnual Salary$58,425.00 - $91,225.00The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate.
