Equities Trading Associate - Proprietary Firm - Hiring in Houston, TX

Position Overview We are looking for equities trading associates to join our proprietary trading firm. You will trade stocks and options with firm-allocated capital, developing your trading skills while working alongside a network of experienced traders in a remote, performance-driven environment. Location: Houston, TX Employment Type: Independent Contractor (1099) Experience Level: 2+ years trading or managing investments Key Responsibilities Construct and execute options trades aligned with your defined edge and risk tolerance Track volatility surfaces, skew, and term structure to inform strategy selection Size positions appropriately using portfolio-level risk metrics, not just per-trade stops Adjust hedges and roll positions in response to changing market conditions Document trade theses, entries, exits, and post-trade reviews for ongoing improvement Engage with peer traders to share market views and refine strategy ideas Required Qualifications 2+ years of options, equity, forex, or crypto trading experience Understanding of leverage, margin, and risk control across asset classes Demonstrated ability to follow a trading plan and avoid emotional decisions Strong desire to develop into a consistent, capital-efficient trader Stable trading environment — hardware, internet, and quiet workspace Experience with broker APIs, scripting, or quant tools is helpful but optional Position Details Independent contractor (1099) role with results-based compensation only Profit splits range from 65% to 90%, tied to your performance tier within the firm Begin with up to $50,000 in firm capital, with realistic scaling toward $500,000+ Remote-first by design — you control your environment, your hours, and your setup Bi-monthly capital reviews provide a transparent path to larger allocations Further details about benefits and incentives covered during onboarding interviews Location & Remote Work This position is listed for candidates in the Houston, TX area.
