SW Test Development Engineer 2

Overview Dexcom is seeking a Software R&D, Data Platform Test Engineering team member to contribute to the full life cycle of software in a fast-growing organization. You will work with highly skilled test engineering professionals to deliver quality results while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Responsibilities Participate in building quality into products by writing automated tests and performing tests (including ad hoc testing) throughout the development cycle. Develop software requirements and design specifications. Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated and manual test scripts to test Dexcom CGM software and systems. Create verification and validation test plans, test reports, traceability matrices, and review with relevant stakeholders. Record and track issues in the bug tracking system; analyze failures and collaborate with development teams to determine root cause. Contribute to release process improvements and provide technical guidance and mentorship for junior engineers. What makes you successful Hands-on experience in software development or software test development using Python or other OOP languages. Hands-on experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases; experience with automated test development in API testing. Experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g., Robot Framework) and strong understanding of API testing, microservices, and distributed systems in cloud environments. Experience with automated UI testing and cloud applications (Google Cloud or AWS). Experience with containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes); knowledge of FDA design control in the medical device industry is highly desired. Knowledge of GCP (Airflow, Dataflow, BigQuery) and distributed event streaming platforms (Kafka). Experience with performance testing is a plus; CI/CD experience, especially with cloud-based technologies. 5+ years of Agile development and test development experience; ability to work cross-functionally with software development teams on testing, deployment, and reporting on product performance, quality, security, and stability. Experience and Education Requirements Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 2 - 5 years related experience or Master's degree and 0-2 years equivalent experience. Flex Workplace: primary location is a home office; you must live within commuting distance of your assigned Dexcom site (typically 75 miles/120km).
