Information Technology Specialist I - Telework Hybrid

Job Description and Duties

This position is located at the DMV Headquarters in Sacramento.

The Platform Support Services Group is seeking a highly motivated Enterprise Applications Administrator. Under the general direction of the Information Technology Supervisor II, the nformation Technology Specialist I (ITS I)will design, deploy, and maintain complex IT systems, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security across the department's vital 24x7 infrastructure. Core responsibilities include designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining software systems. The ITS I collaborates with teams on cloud development using DevOps methodologies, optimizes database and system performance, and maintains current documentation for system configurations. This position involves designing and recommending innovative solutions to support the installation, configuration, and ongoing administration of IT systems, enhancing efficiency, security, operability, and reliability across various technology platforms. The ITS I will collaborate with other technical teams and employ industry best practices to support new technologies, and software development techniques. Additionally, job duties involve vendor and contract management, and contract support, including developing, reviewing, and approving Statements of Work (SOW) for vendor engagements, and procurement activities, contract renewals, ensuring compliance with state regulations and policies, with a focus on securing technology solutions that satisfy the organization's hardware, software, and security needs.

Working Conditions

Part-time telework available. Telework requires California residency. This position offers hybrid telework opportunities; however, telework arrangements are subject to change at any time based on State & departmental operational needs. Employees may be required to report to the office as necessary.

Works in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing priorities.  

This position is  located  at the Sacramento DMV Headquarters  at 2415 First Avenue, Sacramento, California, 95818.  DMV  operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  This position has core work hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00  PM  weekdays.  Weekends, long and/or irregular hours, after-hours work, holiday work, and overnight travel may be required.  This position is  required  to carry a DMV-issued cell phone and required to be reachable outside of normal business hours.
