Horizontal Directional Drill Operator/ Locator (HDD)

Overview TEKsystems is in need of a OSP Horizontal Directional Drill Locator (will accept operators who want to learn!!). They will be working with a 4‑man crew to perform underground telecommunications/utility excavation, horizontal directional drilling, conduit/cable placement, and ground restoration. Responsibilities Work with a crew made up of a CPM, locator, foreman, and operator. Have solid experience locating underground utilities, working/maintaining a directional drill Vermeer 2440, test pitting, drill maintenance, mixing mud, etc. Operate Vermeer brand machinery confidently around underground placements. Provide daily maintenance to equipment. Participate in all team duties to help drive project efficiencies. Skills OSP, Fiber, Construction, Coax, conduit, excavation, trenching, underground, hardware, equipment maintenance, telecommunication, telecom, location services, utility locating, fiber optic cable. Qualifications & Additional Skills Mixing mud (drill setup/maintenance). Reliable, dependable, team‑player. Work ethic, ability to drive company vehicles, flexibility, does not mind working in various weather conditions. Job Type & Location Contract to Hire position based out of White Marsh, MD. Fully onsite with onsite vehicle, no take‑home, 7‑4 (varies per job), advancement opportunities. Bilingual is a plus (not required).
