About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to play a pivotal role in ensuring the organization's financial strength and operational efficiency. The CFO will be a key member of the executive team, serving as a strategic business partner to the CEO and Board of Trustees. This leadership position involves leading the stewardship of the organization's financial health, building a culture of financial transparency and accountability, and providing financial insights to support decision-making and the strategic oversight of major initiatives. The CFO will also be responsible for financial modeling, multi-scenario planning, and leading the financial evaluation of potential growth partnerships. Candidates for the CFO position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree (MBA or MPA preferred) and at least 7 years' of financial management and operational experience, with a strong preference for leadership experience in a non-profit setting. The role requires a deep financial management and/or accounting background, experience in staff and budget management, and a commitment to the values of mission-oriented, public service journalism. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and possess excellent management, communication, and interpersonal skills. Unquestioned ethics, a commitment to inclusion and belonging, and the ability to work with boards and senior leaders are also essential.
