Herschend is seeking an enthusiastic and hospitable Barista to add to our coffee shop team for our newest hospitality venture, Dolly Parton's SongTeller Hotel, located in the heart of Downtown Nashville. The ideal candidate is driven to provide excellent cafe experiences for our guests through proper steps of service and maintain a great work environment for our fellow hosts and vendors at SongTeller Caf, the hotel coffee shop.

The Barista position provides a unique opportunity for the right individual to be involved in opening coffee shop efforts for Dolly Parton's SongTeller Hotel featuring 245 rooms, two F&B Entertainment venues, a market, and Dolly Parton's Museum. This position is driven to create meaningful experiences for our hosts, guests, and community while simultaneously ensuring the success and profitability of our unique offerings. The recipe for the right Barista will be equal parts curious learner, innovator, administrator, mentor and motivator. To achieve success in this role, one must drive results while adhering to our Heartspitality culture. This position requires a warm, gracious spirit and a love of coffee, perfectly befitting the SongTeller Caf and the legendary Nashville icon who inspired it.

Summary of Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Welcomes guests promptly with a professional and friendly attitude
• Determines the needs and educates guests by presenting and explaining the coffee/tea drink menu
• Prepares and sells hot and cold beverages including coffee and espresso drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques
• Sells a variety of prepared food items; using proper equipment to heat items when necessary
• Stocks and presents food/beverage items to standard
• Orders/requisitions food and supplies through lead/sous chef
• Maintains a clean and sanitary environment in compliance with all local and federal health codes
• Uses POS accurately. Handles credit card transactions as directed
• Participates in upsell strategies as directed by management
• Participates in daily line ups
• Practices service standards and current training throughout service.

Qualifications

• Requires thorough knowledge of a specialized or technical field
• Must be able to obtain Food Handler certification
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Flexible availability to include weekends and holidays
• Must pass a pre-employment background check
