Working closely with clients, utilities, developers, contractors, and internal technical teams, the Project Manager coordinates multiple EV infrastructure projects simultaneously, maintaining accountability for budgets, schedules, quality, and client expectations. The ideal candidate brings strong construction project management experience, technical knowledge of EV charging infrastructure, and the ability to navigate complex, multi-site EVSE deployment programs.

Division Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Manage multiple public and private electric vehicle charging infrastructure projects nationwide, including commercial charging facilities, retail locations, fleet charging depots, workplace charging, and public charging networks. Projects may include Level 2 and DC Fast Charging (DCFC) installations, new construction, site upgrades, and charging network expansions.

  2. Direct all phases of EVSE project development, including site feasibility assessments, due diligence, entitlement, engineering and design coordination, permitting, procurement, bidding, contracting, construction, commissioning, and final project closeout.

  3. Coordinate with electric utilities, electrical engineers, contractors, and charging equipment providers regarding power availability, utility service applications, transformer requirements, electrical capacity upgrades, interconnection, and energization schedules.

  4. Support site evaluations to determine EV charging infrastructure requirements, including available electrical capacity, site accessibility, equipment placement, parking configurations, civil improvements, utility access, and potential construction constraints.

  5. Coordinate the selection, procurement, installation, and integration of EV charging equipment, including Level 2 chargers, DC fast chargers, electrical distribution equipment, switchgear, transformers, networking components, and associated charging management systems.

  6. Manage general contractors, electrical contractors, engineering consultants, equipment vendors, specialty subcontractors, and other project partners to maintain project quality, schedule, budget, and compliance with approved plans and specifications.

  7. Manage project permitting and approval activities with municipalities, authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs), utilities, and other regulatory agencies. Maintain working knowledge of applicable electrical and building codes, accessibility requirements, and EV infrastructure installation standards.

  8. Develop and manage project budgets, cost estimates, forecasts, contracts, purchase orders, change orders, and financial reporting. Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining project quality and contractual commitments.

  9. Coordinate simultaneous EV charging installations across multiple geographic markets, managing site-specific schedules, utility timelines, permitting requirements, contractor resources, and client reporting.

  10. Support coordination of applicable utility rebates, government grants, and EV infrastructure incentive programs, including documentation, application requirements, compliance tracking, and reporting associated with funded charging projects.

  11. Coordinate final inspections, equipment testing, utility energization, charger activation, network connectivity verification, commissioning activities, and turnover documentation to support operational readiness and client acceptance.

  12. Proactively identify and address project challenges related to utility delays, permitting, equipment availability, site conditions, construction schedules, contractor performance, and budget constraints.

  13. Partner with EV infrastructure developers, charging network operators, fleet owners, commercial property owners, utilities, and internal business development teams to support program implementation, customer enrollment, and long-term client relationships.

  14. Travel up to 70% across the United States to client offices, project sites, construction locations, and other business-related destinations. Overnight travel may be required based on project assignments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Lead the overall direction, execution, and successful completion of assigned EV infrastructure projects, accounting for project scope, location, budget, schedule, site conditions, electrical requirements, and applicable codes and regulations.

  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, clients, and technical stakeholders to establish project objectives, scope, deliverables, timelines, and performance expectations.

  3. Maintain clear communication with clients, contractors, utilities, and internal teams, providing project updates and managing stakeholder expectations throughout the project lifecycle.

  4. Monitor project milestones, budgets, schedules, and deliverables, providing regular progress reports and identifying potential delays or risks.

  5. Create and maintain accurate project documentation, schedules, budgets, reports, and tracking information using company or client project management platforms.

  6. Evaluate project execution, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement solutions to improve efficiency, cost management, and project delivery.

  7. Serve as a primary point of coordination between technical and non-technical stakeholders, including engineering teams, contractors, site hosts, utility providers, and clients.

  8. Promote collaboration and accountability across internal departments and external partners to support successful EV infrastructure deployment.

  9. Maintain awareness of EV charging industry developments, construction practices, technology advancements, and applicable project management standards.

  10. Support compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, electrical codes, permitting requirements, safety standards, and client specifications.

  11. Deliver exceptional customer service through proactive communication, timely issue resolution, and responsiveness to client and project needs.

  12. Maintain confidentiality of company and client information, exercising sound professional judgment and discretion.

  13. Demonstrate Bureau Veritas guiding principles and support the company's strategic business objectives.
