Our client, a growing custom sheet metal fabrication company in Clarence, NY, is looking to add a Maintenance Technician I to their team!


This is an on-site/full-time/direct hire position
Salary range depending on experience: Up to $30/hr + Overtime

About the Opportunity
A leading Western New York manufacturer is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to support daily production operations through equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and facility upkeep. This role is ideal for mechanically inclined candidates who thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy hands-on technical work with CNC and manual machinery.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on CNC machinery (press brakes, lathes, mills) following manufacturer specifications.
• Assist senior maintenance personnel with equipment repairs and diagnostics.
• Inspect, test, and troubleshoot machinery to identify mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or electrical issues.
• Dismantle and repair machines using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.
• Communicate proactively with production teams regarding maintenance schedules and potential downtime.
• Maintain facility systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building infrastructure.
• Install and configure electrical equipment; measure, cut, and install wiring and conduit.
• Read and interpret electrical blueprints and schematics.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment in compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of maintenance concepts.
• Ability to work independently, follow detailed instructions, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Basic knowledge of OSHA safety practices; certifications are a plus.
