This contract opportunity is for a Retail Staff Pharmacist at a hospital-owned community pharmacy located in Buckeye, WV. The role offers a unique blend of traditional retail pharmacy services within a warm, welcoming environment that also features a gift and coffee shop—fostering a community-centered experience for patients and visitors. The position involves overseeing the entire retail pharmacy operation and requires leadership, clinical, and administrative expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct and supervise pharmacy technicians and staff pharmacists to ensure smooth daily operations
• Verify, dispense, and accurately distribute approximately 4,000 prescriptions monthly
• Manage retail pharmacy inventory, stock medication, and maintain the formulary in compliance with regulations
• Handle controlled substance protocols and documentation rigorously
• Administer and oversee the 340B drug pricing program ensuring regulatory compliance
• Manage billing processes including claims submission and reconciliation accurately
• Utilize Pioneer RX software and electronic health records for daily workflow; training provided
• Support and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives within the pharmacy
• Administer immunizations as part of community healthcare services

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active and unrestricted pharmacist license in West Virginia
• Experience with Pioneer RX preferred but not mandatory, with training available
• Graduate from an accredited School of Pharmacy; PharmD preferred but not required
• Current CPR and immunization certification required
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills to engage with patients and staff

Schedule and Location:

• 12-week contract located in Buckeye, WV
• Work 2 days per week, preferably Tuesday and Wednesday; however, flexibility is possible
• Shift hours: 7:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. with a 30-minute lunch break (10-hour shift)
