Fiber Splicer – Data Center Project

Location: Abilene, Texas
Schedule: 60+ hours per week
Per Diem: $100 per day

Position Summary

KS Staffing Group is seeking experienced Fiber Splicers for a large-scale data center project in Abilene, TX. This is a long-hour project requiring dependable, experienced technicians who are prepared to work 60+ hours per week in a fast-paced data center environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform fusion splicing of fiber optic cables and enclosures.
• Prepare, route, splice, and terminate fiber optic cable according to project specifications.
• Read and interpret fiber optic schematics, prints, and splice diagrams.
• Perform fiber testing using OTDR, power meters, and light sources.
• Identify and troubleshoot fiber optic issues, including high loss, reflections, and continuity problems.
• Maintain accurate splice records, test results, and documentation.
• Work safely around active construction and data center environments.
• Follow project, safety, and quality-control requirements.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Work effectively with project managers, foremen, and other technicians to meet production deadlines.

Qualifications

• Previous professional fiber splicing experience required.
• Experience with fusion splicing and fiber optic testing.
• Ability to read fiber optic prints, schematics, and splice diagrams.
• Experience working on large-scale telecommunications, data center, or commercial fiber projects preferred.
• Ability to work 60+ hours per week, including extended shifts and weekends as required.
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
• Ability to work safely and efficiently in a physically demanding construction environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Compensation & Per Diem

• Hourly Pay: Based on experience
• Schedule: 60+ hours per week
• Per Diem: $100 per day
• Long-term project opportunity
• Overtime available based on hours worked and applicable requirements
