Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer in Robotics and Computer Science

The Department of Computing, part of Worcester Business School at the University of Worcester City Campus, is seeking an experienced Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Robotics and Computer Science to support our growing programmes. Research themes include Machine Learning, Data Science, Intelligent Interactive Systems, Computing in Education, and Cyber Security. The department also hosts the Digital Innovation and Intelligent Systems Research Group. Depending on qualifications and experience, this role is available on either a Standard Academic Contact (SAC) or Teaching Only Contract (TOC). For SAC, the successful candidate should hold (or be within 12 months of completing) a PhD in a related Computer Science field. For TOC, a Masters’ Degree in a related Computer Science field, a recognised teaching qualification and/or a Higher Education Academy fellowship is required. We welcome applications from candidates with contemporary subject knowledge or experience in physical computing (design and realisation of interactive objects and installations), robotics, single‑board computers such as Raspberry Pi, the Arduino platform, real‑time operating systems, sensors and microcontrollers, and computer hardware and electronics for Computer Science. Candidates should also have knowledge and experience in two or more of the following areas: Robotics Computer Science Object‑Oriented Programming Mathematics for Computing Operating Systems Cloud Computing Internet of Things Responsibilities The successful candidate will lead the development of existing and new modules and course offerings at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and contribute to research and knowledge‑exchange activities within the Department of Computing.
