Equipment Leasing Services is a Scottsdale-based independent equipment finance company, established in 2000 and backed by a multi-billion dollar publicly traded parent. Our small, high-output team handles the full spectrum of equipment finance structures — capital leases, TRAC leases, operating leases, EFAs, and sale-leasebacks — for clients across Arizona and neighboring states.

Position Summary

We're looking for a hands-on accountant to manage the company's books, financial reporting, and lease/loan accounting in a fast-paced, small-team environment. This role suits someone who wants variety rather than a narrow function in a large finance department — you'll touch everything from day-to-day bookkeeping to deal-level accounting on transactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger, month-end close, and financial statement preparation

• Perform lease and loan accounting across multiple structures (capital leases, TRAC leases, operating leases, EFAs, sale-leasebacks), including amortization schedules and interest income recognition

• Track and reconcile syndicated/participated deals between ELS and participating banks

• Support periodic third-party audits or financial reviews as required

• Manage accounts payable/receivable, cash management, and bank reconciliations

• Prepare reporting for the parent company and support any consolidated reporting requirements

• Maintain amortization schedules for notes payable used to fund sales-type lease portfolios and reconcile to the general ledger monthly

• Assist with tax preparation coordination alongside outside CPA firm

• Assist Portfolio Managers in monitoring termination values, residuals, and payoff calculations on active leases

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• 3+ years of accounting experience; equipment finance, commercial lending, or leasing industry experience strongly preferred

• Familiarity with lease accounting concepts (ASC 842 a plus) and loan/receivable accounting

• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online required

• Strong Excel skills

• Comfortable working independently in a small-team environment with direct exposure to the CEO and deal team

• High attention to detail — this role touches financial data feeding into credit decisions and regulatory reporting

• CPA or progress toward CPA a plus
