We are a group of professionals specializing in door-to-door transportation of live research animals, human and animal tissues, organ transplants and pharmaceuticals. We are staffed with transportation experts in the animal, airline and tissue fields. We specialize in same day and next day transport.


Who You Are

The Staff Accountant is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining strict compliance with accounting standards to support the financial health of the organization. This role plays a critical part in tracking operational, transportation, warehousing, and freight costs while partnering with leadership to provide financial insights that support strategic decision-making.

The ideal candidate is an analytical, detail-oriented "financial detective" who can collaborate effectively across distributed departments and thrives autonomously in a work-from-home corporate environment. A CPA designation is preferred but not required.

What You'll Do

• Full-Cycle Accounting: Prepare, review, and maintain accurate financial records, journal entries, and general ledger accounts. Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Closing Processes: Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Reconciliations: Reconcile bank statements, balance sheet accounts, credit cards, and other financial records, proactively tracking down audit trail discrepancies.
• Cost & Expense Analysis: Analyze transportation, freight, warehousing, fuel, and other operational expenses to identify cost trends and opportunities for improvement. Track and reconcile customer billing, carrier invoices, and vendor payments.
• Financial Planning: Assist with budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and the preparation of ad hoc management reports for leadership.
• Compliance & Audits: Ensure strict compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), company policies, tax regulations, and internal controls. Assist with external audits and year-end tax preparation.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate remotely with operations, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure accurate financial data and cost allocation.

What You Bring

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional accounting experience.
• Corporate Scale & Industry: Direct experience working within a company generating $15 Million to $25 Million in annual gross revenue. Experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, warehousing, distribution, or manufacturing environments is highly preferred.
• Software Expertise: Minimum of 5 years of advanced, daily operational experience with QuickBooks AND a minimum of 5 years of advanced proficiency in Google Sheets (expert level with XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and financial data modeling).
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. (CPA preferred but not required).
• Remote Workspace: High level of personal autonomy, exceptional time management, and a dedicated, quiet home office setup equipped with reliable high-speed internet.

• Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• Strong integrity, professionalism, and commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality.

What We Offer

• Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000 per year (depending on experience).
• Location: 100% Work from Home (Remote).
• Schedule: Full-time, standard business hours. Flexible 8-hour shift scheduled between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM.
