Senior Project Manager - Heavy Civil Construction

Join an Established Heavy Civil Contractor

A well-established heavy civil construction contractor that has been serving the market for over a century is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join its team. The company specializes in road construction, milling, and a variety of other civil infrastructure projects throughout the Pacific Northwest.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proven construction professional who can take ownership of projects from preconstruction through final closeout while working closely with field leadership, clients, subcontractors, and company management.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage heavy civil construction projects from preconstruction through completion
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and cost controls
• Coordinate field crews, subcontractors, vendors, equipment, and material needs
• Review plans, specifications, contracts, and project requirements
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, and project documentation
• Track project costs, production, quantities, and overall financial performance
• Maintain strong communication with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams
• Identify project risks and proactively resolve scheduling, cost, and operational challenges
• Support procurement and subcontractor negotiations
• Provide leadership and mentorship to project and field teams
• Ensure projects meet company standards for safety, quality, schedule, and profitability
• Assist with preconstruction, budgeting, bid reviews, and project handoff

Qualifications

• 7+ years of construction project management experience, preferably within heavy civil construction
• Strong background in road construction, milling, grading, earthwork, site development, or related civil infrastructure
• Proven experience managing project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, change orders, and financial performance
• Strong understanding of heavy civil field operations and construction methods
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
• Experience with public and/or private infrastructure projects preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred but not required
• Estimating experience is a plus, including takeoffs, bid preparation, cost analysis, and preconstruction
