Bird offers a competitive wage/benefit package, including medical/dental/vision, 401K, and a bonus.PURPOSE OF POSITION:The CNC Machinist II is responsible for independently operating and setting up CNC equipment to produce precision components that meet quality and production standards. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, blueprint interpretation, and the ability to make machine adjustments with minimal supervision.GENERAL FUNCTIONS / SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:Develop an environment of continual improvement through the use of Lean tools.Promote the Bird Family Values through your actions – Trust, Innovation, Teamwork, Achievement, and Accountability.Be able to explain key concepts of the Quality Policy, Quality Goals, and complete requirements from ISO 9001 (Quality Management Systems) training.Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and multi-axis machining centersRead and interpret complex blueprints, GD&T callouts, and process sheetsSelect and install tooling, fixtures, and work offsetsEdit CNC programs at the machine as neededPerform first-piece inspections and in-process quality checksTroubleshoot machining issues and recommend process improvementsMaintain production efficiency while ensuring part qualityTrain and mentor entry-level machinists and operatorsCollaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve manufacturing issuesPerform preventive maintenance and maintain clean work areasKNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: (must have all)High school diploma or GED requiredTechnical degree or apprenticeship preferred3 or more years of CNC machining experienceProficiency with precision measuring equipmentAbility to independently perform machine setups and adjustmentsStrong understanding of feeds, speeds, tooling, and machining processesExperience editing G-code and M-code programsPreferred SkillsExperience with multi-axis machiningKnowledge of SPC and lean manufacturing principlesFamiliarity with CAD/CAM softwareExperience in aerospace, automotive, or electronics manufacturing environmentsEEO/AA/M/F/VET/DISABILITY EMPLOYERBird Technologies is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
