Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned) The School Psychologist is directly responsible for the psychological assessment of academic, social emotional, cognitive, and functional domains utilizing problem solving and standardized evaluations. The School Psychologist monitors the Full Individual Evaluations (FIE) completion of case study evaluations and participates in Individual Education Plan (IEP) conferences and problem-solving meetings designing systems, programs and services that maximize students’ emotional, and educational success. In collaboration with staff, families, students, and communities the school psychologist promotes effective educational environments. Essential Job Functions: Conduct psychological assessments and presents and interprets results for students. Participates in IEP conferences, team meetings, and problem-solving meetings. Coordinate and/or collaborate with a range of individuals/agencies to promote and provide comprehensive services to students and families. Lead crisis intervention efforts and provide insight into the development of functional assessments and behavior intervention plans. Integrate psychological services into the classroom environment as appropriate. Monitor completion of case study evaluations and participate in IEP conferences and problem-solving meetings. Participate in building or program activities and meetings as appropriate. Proficiently use technology to communicate, compile reports, and collect data. Provide individual, group, and family therapy per IEP requirements. Provide support services to parents/guardians as needed. Provide and/or assist in professional development for staff, parents, and/or community. Participates in professional growth opportunities. Prepares and submits reports in a timely manner. Completes all necessary paperwork in advance of the meeting, completes filing requirements, monitors implementation, and collaborates with team. Assists staff with monitoring and charting behavioral/social-emotional, academic, and functional progress of students. Assists staff with establishing and implementing classroom management system for students in alignment with program expectations. Assists staff with maintaining records and reports regarding pupil progress in a timely manner. Assists staff in developing intervention and instructional plans targeting age-appropriate social skills and behaviors in relating to peers and adults. Works with staff to foster integration of special education students. Assists staff in developing individual, group or system level interventions, which improve or resolve the identified problems or concerns including academic, social, emotional, behavioral, or mental health needs as they relate to educational progress. Provides support, instruction, technical assistance and ongoing monitoring of progress toward measurable, identified goals for students at individual, group or system level. Demonstrates knowledge of varied models and methods of assessment that yield information useful in identifying strengths and needs, understanding problems and measuring progress. Demonstrates the ability to collect data and other information, assists in making empirically based decisions based on assessment results, and evaluates outcomes. Demonstrates knowledge and ability to apply principles, current research, and methods of developing an instructional and behavioral management system. Demonstrates a genuine interest in the student population of the collaborative. Qualifications Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: Illinois Professional Educator License endorsed in School Psychologist. Master’s Degree in School Psychology. Ability to travel within the member districts of the ELC. Experience with special education students preferred.
