Position Summary The Senior Manager of Finance and Parish Administration is a mission-driven professional responsible for the day-to-day financial operations and administrative support of the parish. This role ensures the integrity of financial systems, records and processes in support of sound decision-making and the mission of the parish. In addition to performing the day-to-day accounting function, the Senior Manager partners with the Business Manager to strengthen financial processes and systems in accordance with Archdiocesan policies, procedures and guidelines. This role also dedicates a portion of time to supporting ministry initiatives and helping strengthen church and school systems, including ministry reporting and data analytics. Responsibilities FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT and PARISH ADMINISTRATION Perform day-to-day accounting functions including but not limited to payables and receivables, bank reconciliations, general ledger management and monthly closing process. Ensure proper internal controls and financial processes are in place and followed in accordance with GAAP and Archdiocesan policies, procedures and guidelines. Support the Director of Finance and Strategic Initiatives in preparing parish (church and school) annual budgets, annual reports, and monthly financial reports. Develop monthly variance reports and forecasts. Review and explain all reports with appropriate staff including but not limited to pastor, principal, senior ministry staff. Manage giving systems and contribution records, ensuring gifts are recorded accurately and timely. Provide and implement process improvements and efficiencies in financial operations. Manage vendor relationships and payment schedules. Manage monthly procurement card transactions. Report any discrepancies in policy to Director of Finance and Strategic Initiatives. Serve as parish representative to banks, reconciling accounts, identifying discrepancies and resolving issues. Perform weekly offertory deposit process and reconciliation. Collaborate with Business Manager in support of school finance and operations. Provide back-up for payroll processing. Confirm that all federal, state and local taxes are paid in accordance with all regulations for same. Attend required Archdiocesan and Vicariate Operations meetings. MINISTRY and SYSTEMS SUPPORT Support ministry initiatives, particularly the Men's Executive Series, by planning and coordinating events and other offerings. Support outreach to adults in their 30s through parish programs, events and follow-up. Help strengthen parish systems and technology, including evaluating different service providers. Assist in planning and tracking projects including capital improvements, events and mission-driven programs., Assisting with projects, vendor relations and vendor analyses. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Undergraduate Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent professional experience.Minimum five years in an accounting or finance role within a parish or business entity. Demonstrate understanding, respect and support of the Catholic Church teaching, mission and values. Practicing Catholic. Demonstrated thorough knowledge of accounting principles. Strong proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office, especially Excel. UKG (payroll system) knowledge preferred. Able to identify opportunities for improvement, evaluate issues and situations and propose and implement recommendations/solutions. Strong drive to achieve results combined with attention to details. Proficient in project management techniques. Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work in team environment and has a "Service Mindset" when working with others. Culturally astute and able to build relationships with people of various social, ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Can be entrusted with highly confidential information.
