Role

The Director of Commercial Data & Analytics Architecture leads the design and implementation of Pfizer's governed commercial analytics data ecosystem.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include owning the data model—covering data domains, identity spines, and layered data structures—establishing federated development models, setting data standards, and ensuring semantic consistency across teams. The role involves defining the technology stack, evaluating emerging tools, and overseeing scalable operations, including pipelines, onboarding, and legacy decommissioning. The architect acts as the design authority for internal and external development efforts, translating decisions into business terms for leadership, and ensuring compliance with governance and data quality standards.

Requirements

8+ years in data architecture, engineering, or analytics engineering with hands‑on coding in SQL and Python, experience with cloud data warehouses (preferably Snowflake), designing data contracts, and serving as a design authority, ideally within regulated industries like pharma or biotech.

Preferred

Advanced degree, experience with data cataloging, governance workflows, data mesh models, and preparing data for AI/ML use cases. High‑value specifics include focus on commercial pharma data, regulated industry context, and cross‑functional collaboration with senior stakeholders.
