Peer Recovery Specialist

Boulder Care is hiring a Peer Recovery Specialist for a 100% remote, full-time position. Applicants must reside in one of the following states: AL, AK, AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, KS, ID, IN, MD, MI, NM, NY, NC, NV, OH, OR, PA, TN, TX, WA, WY. Responsibilities Conduct patient engagement in accordance with Boulder Peer Recovery Specialist policies and procedures. Assist patients in identifying barriers to sustained recovery and empower them in the recovery management process. Assess patient progress, functioning, and willingness to engage peer services in collaboration with patients and the Care Team, identifying options for short‑and long‑term whole‑health goals and recovery plans. Educate patients on available community resources and the Boulder Care program components, and facilitate placement for higher levels of care as needed. Escalate crisis situations and ethical breaches involving staff to appropriate personnel or agencies in a timely manner. Provide social and emotional support and non‑emergency recovery‑relevant resources to patients. Maintain proactive follow‑up communication with patients and providers, delivering patient outcomes reports to Care Team members. Report situations under Mandatory Reporting, Duty to Warn, and relevant U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency purviews. Advocate for patients in company matters affecting the patient population and their communities. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of documented, professional experience working in peer support (hard requirement). At least 1 year of experience navigating adjunctive opioid‑use‑disorder treatment resources and referral processes. Peer certification in state of residence that is active and in good standing. Certification as a National Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist (NCPRSS) through NAADAC expected within 9 months of hire. Minimum two years of recovery from lived experience in substance use and/or co‑occurring mental health disorders (self‑attested). Strong preference for individuals with underrepresented recovery pathways or experience of marginalization, though not required. High trustworthiness, integrity, and commitment to patient confidentiality per HIPAA, 42 CFR Part II, and the Boulder Care Code of Conduct. Excellent written and verbal communication. Team‑focused with effective collaboration skills. Problem‑solving and analytical skills appropriate for the role. Demonstrated ethical standards and composure under pressure. Work Environment This fully remote role requires a dedicated, private workspace with a lockable door and high‑speed internet to maintain HIPAA compliance. Compensation & Benefits The starting pay range is $24.52 – $28.32 an hour, commensurate with experience, and is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package: Medical coverage through Regence.
