What you’ll do (Essential Job Functions)  

The role of Care Advocate is a full-time position. You will work as part of the Humankind Team. The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to: 

• Proactively reach out to individuals via phone to offer help and support according to program requirements.
• Work closely with a collaborative team of people who want to change the world. 
• Be a key contributor to improving the lives of millions of people by acting with a sense of urgency to connect individuals to help.
• Communicate clearly and passionately to build connections that result in successfully enrolling individuals in our program. 
• Maintain compliance with confidentiality and privacy requirements, including HIPAA. 
• Meet performance metrics. 
• Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

• You are a college graduate or have an associate degree in a customer related field 
• You are an individual with at least 1-year of outbound customer experience in the following capacity: call center, claims, benefits, fundraising, or healthcare scheduling practices. 
• You are passionate about mental health and emotional wellbeing, behavioral health, community outreach, resources, healthcare or active volunteerism. 
• You are an individual with an obvious sense of urgency and purpose. 
• You are someone with demonstrated excellence in providing outstanding customer service over the phone and via email. 
• You are motivated to help others. Aligned to our organizational mission and vision. 
• You are excited about being the first point of contact and connecting individuals with the support they need to thrive. 
• You have excellent interpersonal skills (communication and listening), especially over the phone, and a willingness to receive feedback.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English is required.
• You are focused and determined, optimistic and creative. 
• You are interested in working remotely and reside in AR, AZ, CO, DE, FL, GA, IL, KY, LA, MA, MD, MN, NC, NE, NH, NJ, NV, OH, OR, SC, TN, TX, VA, WA, or WI.
