About This Role

Developing a cohesive teaching team, coordinating curriculum, and managing day-to-day classroom operations are key responsibilities of the Teacher. The ideal candidate will understand child development and create a stimulating environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed. The Teacher must be skilled in communicating with children and adults, guiding teacher assistants, and resolving parental concerns.

• Plan age-appropriate activities to foster social, cognitive, and emotional growth in children, while actively engaging them in learning.
• Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences, ensuring parents are informed and involved in their child's education.
• Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers, ensuring they follow planned activities, hygiene, and safety standards, and providing guidance and support as needed.
• Lead by example, modeling and coaching teaching team success, and encourage a collaborative and supportive environment.
• Develop and implement educational curriculum, incorporating developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards, to promote child development and learning.
• Ensure the classroom environment is healthy and safe, adhering to state regulations and center policies, and maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards.
• Maintain accurate records, forms, and files, and develop a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.

• A strong understanding of child development.
• Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
• Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional child care experience.
• Associate’s Degree in early childhood education or related field of study with a minimum of 30 Credits in ECE.
• High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
• Requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
• A specific vision ability will be required including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors, have peripheral vision and depth perception.
