About the Position

Job Opportunity – NICU Registered Nurse (Level III/IV) – Texas

Start Date: November 2, 2026
Location: Texas

Schedule: Self-scheduling with block schedule flexibility; 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period; 12-hour shifts; no on-call required

Highlights:

• Work in a 181-bed children's hospital and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with a 43-bed Level IV NICU
• Patient ratios of 1:2-4 caring for neonates with prematurity, respiratory distress, hypoglycemia, sepsis, surgical subspecialties (excluding cardiac), and HIE
• Self-scheduling model with flexibility; contracts longer than 13 weeks available for interested candidates
• Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including interpretation services
• Float opportunities to Pediatrics, PICU, and Pediatric ED on a PRN basis
• Free parking in unrestricted spaces with bike racks available; 12-hour orientation provided

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
• Level III NICU experience strongly preferred (facility operates as Level IV)
• Current RN license (Compact license accepted and must be in hand at submission)
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Proficiency in advanced NICU skills including ventilator management, high-frequency ventilation, administration of blood products, central line care, UAC/UVC management, therapeutic hypothermia, and care of neonates from 29+ weeks gestation
• Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
