Job Title: Respiratory Care Practitioner Location: Newark Beth Israel Medical Center Req#: 0000168558 Status: Full-time Shift: Night Department name: Respiratory Job Overview: The primary function of a Respiratory Care Practitioner (Registered Respiratory Therapist)is to provide respiratory care to a variety of inpatients and outpatients. The scope of duty includes therapeutic, diagnostic, educational and invasive procedures for adult, pediatric and infant NBI/CHoNJ patients. Qualifications: Required: Registered Respiratory Therapist Current NJ Respiratory license RRT/CRT (Required). Preferred: Certifications and Licenses Required (if applicable): Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required. Scheduling Requirements (non-exempt positions): Night Full-Time Essential Functions: Helps patient accomplish treatment plan and, supports life by administering inhalants, and operating mechanical ventilators. Therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators. Administers respiratory therapy treatments by performing bronchopulmonary drainage. Assisting with breathing exercises; monitoring physiological responses to therapy, such as vital signs, arterial blood gases, and blood chemistry changes; and directing treatments given by aides, technicians, and assistants.
