Responsibilities Actively oversee the dog pack in a social play environment, acting as the functional pack leader. Observe behavior and manage safety for all dogs. Create play groups based on dog personalities and play styles. Set up and close the yard according to resort policies (sanitize, clean, scoop, break down pools, etc.). Encourage beneficial interaction between pets and continually monitor pet activity, actively playing with guests. Clean and sanitize all items at the end of the day and/or during the day. Support the philosophy of Best Friends Pet Care while working with a team to collaborate constructively. Treat clients, guests, and coworkers in a professional, courteous manner; greet all clients and guests encountered while performing work duties. Report items of low supply to management. Follow all safe handling and day camp procedures. Education High School Graduate or Equivalent Experience Minimum of 1-year dog handling experience Physical Must be 18 years or older. Must be able to lift 40 pounds. Must be able to be on feet for the full shift. Must be able to stand and walk frequently. Must be able to bend, stoop, and squat. Must be able to follow specific instructions. Must be able to multitask. Must be able to work on a computer system and complete written reports. Must be able to handle dogs of all sizes on leashes. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with time deadlines for completion. Must be able to perform all tasks unsupervised as well as with team members. Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to disinfectant/sanitation chemicals, animal dander and excretions. Personal Must possess a love of animals. Must be comfortable with animals jumping on you. Must be comfortable with and able to work around pet dander, bodily fluids, pet hair, etc. Displays a professional manner at all times.
