Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 Year License: Must have a valid RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: Pediatric experience is preferred. Description: The position requires an RN with experience in PACU, Preop, and Phase II. Candidates must already possess a valid RN license. Pediatric experience is preferred for this assignment. The assignment length is 13 weeks. Shifts are variable, including 0700-1900, 0800-2000, 0900-2100, 1000-2200, and 1100-2300. Nurses will be expected to be on-call for 1 shift per week. Call shifts are primarily overnight. All nurses must choose either one Saturday night or one Sunday night call shift. There are some day shift call shifts available, but these are usually claimed quickly. Nurses are required to arrive at the facility within 30 minutes of being called. On-call sleep rooms are available for those who live far away or prefer to stay on-site. Weekend on-call requirements are also part of the responsibilities. Nurses should be open to floating to similar units to meet facility needs. Flexibility for block scheduling is not available. Candidates must be located at a permanent address at least 50 miles away from the facility. Requests for time off will be approved on an individual basis upon offer. Nurses may be called off for 1, 12-hour shift per 2 weeks. The facility is an acute hospital with a total of 407 staffed beds. Charting is performed using Epic. Additional skills required include management of arterial lines, dysrhythmia recognition, and blood product administration, among others. Expected patient ratios are 2:1 for days, nights, and weekends. Travelers may be required to float to nearby facilities. Responsible use of communication devices will be required for the assignment. References must cover at least 1 year within the last 3 years prior to starting. All candidates must provide documentation of relevant experience and certifications during the compliance process.
