Inpatient L&D PACU RN – Nursing

Title: Inpatient L&D PACU RN – Nursing

Schedule: Weekends every other weekend (unless otherwise specified)

Assignment Details: Contract length not specified; Guaranteed hours not specified

Requirements:

• RN licensure required at time of submission: GA license or Compact license
• Minimum of 2 years RN experience
• Travel experience required
• Charting system experience: Epic required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
• Experience in PACU Phase I & II, pre/post-op care
• Skills in IV start/maintenance, peripheral & central/PICC line care
• Knowledge in vasopressors/hemodynamic medication management, blood product administration, and PCA pump management
• Proficiency in post-epidural care, general postop monitoring, and 12-lead EKG
• Competency in phlebotomy, medication reconciliation, and pain management

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive post-anesthesia care and monitoring for patients in recovery
• Assess patient conditions, vital signs, and response to interventions
• Administer medications and manage IV therapies as ordered
• Ensure accurate documentation of patient progress and care provided
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families regarding postoperative care and recovery

Compliance / Notes:

• Orientation: 24 hours standard; Non-billable Orientation (NBO) hours determined by contract length
• COVID-19 vaccine: Not required
• Flu vaccine: Required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• RTO (Request Time Off): Max 7 days per contract; all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
• Full compliance required to start on time; delays may push start ~2 weeks (bi-weekly orientation schedule)
