Step confidently into a hands-on, rewarding role as an Autism/Emotional Support Interventionist for the 2026–2027 school year, supporting students with significant behavioral and emotional needs in structured classrooms. These contract positions will run from August 10, 2026, to June 11, 2027 (tentative, following the academic calendar), with work sites in Carbon and Lehigh Counties.
You’ll work 32.5–35 hours per week, starting with limited hours for Opening Day and Summer Academy and moving to regular school hours as the year begins. As an Interventionist, you’ll be at the heart of students’ daily growth—delivering personalized academic, behavioral, communication, and social-emotional support alongside teachers, therapists, and behavioral specialists.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Human Services, ABA, or a related field preferred—associate’s degree considered with at least one year (three preferred) of relevant experience
- Practical experience in settings with children/adolescents who have autism spectrum disorder, emotional/behavioral disabilities, or similar needs
- Proven ability to implement behavior management, de-escalation, and trauma-informed care strategies
- Skilled in adapting to challenging behaviors and maintaining a calm, structured environment
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation and team collaboration
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized academic, behavioral, and life-skills support in autism or emotional support classrooms
- Carry out Behavior Intervention Plans and collect behavioral/academic data
- Assist with routines, transitions, and personal care as needed
- Respond thoughtfully to behavioral escalations, supporting a safe, therapeutic learning environment
- Regularly collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams for comprehensive student support
