Embark on an impactful contract opportunity as an Occupational Therapist, where you’ll play a crucial role in supporting school-aged children and young adults ranging from ages 5 to 21. Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license for New York State
- Previous experience or practicums within a school-based setting are highly valued
- Strong understanding of IEPs, assessment procedures, and relevant documentation
- Excellent communication skills for interaction with students, teachers, administrators, and caregivers
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Passion for helping students with diverse backgrounds and abilities reach their goals
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to students ages 5-21, addressing fine motor, sensory processing, and functional life skills
- Assess student needs, develop individualized treatment plans, and contribute to IEP meetings
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to integrate therapeutic strategies into the classroom
- Maintain thorough documentation and track progress towards established goals
- Offer resources and strategies to caregivers to support student success across educational settings
