Business Analyst

We are an approved vendor on contract to provide software development and IT staff augmentation services for the States of Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. We also provide these services to businesses, as well as local and county governments, in the Midwest and nationwide. Senior Business Analyst – Consolidated Application Our client is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to support enhancing and maintaining the Consolidated Application within the NexSys platform, a critical tool for distributing federal formula grants to Local Agencies. This role will serve as a strategic liaison among several Agencies and requires a strong background in business requirements, user acceptance testing, end‑user documentation, training, and leadership in cross‑functional environments. Responsibilities Stakeholder engagement and communication: facilitate meetings with business stakeholders, technical teams, and external consultants, act as the primary point of contact for field consultants, and communicate issue status and updates. Operational and technical liaison: manage and prioritize operational support requests and enhancement tickets in Azure DevOps, collaborate with vendor teams for timely resolution, and translate business needs into technical requirements. Leadership and team coordination: lead and mentor a team of business analysts, delegate tasks, ensure alignment with project goals, and facilitate requirement‑gathering sessions. Documentation and knowledge management: maintain comprehensive documentation on the project SharePoint site and ensure all process changes and decisions are well‑documented and accessible. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills. Leadership capabilities in cross‑functional team environments. Proven experience as a business analyst (4+ years). Experience with Microsoft SharePoint (1+ year). Experience with Azure DevOps, including creating user stories and queries (1+ year). Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC). Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Preferred Experience Experience working with grant management systems or government‑funded programs. Authorized to work in the United States; acceptance of H1B, TN, and other valid work visas (not OPT or CPT). Direct W2 employees only. Employment Details Location: Lansing, MI – onsite 2 days a week; hybrid schedule; relocation required if non‑local. Contract: 1 year.
