Job Summary
The Medical Surgical Oncology Floor registered nurse (RN) position is located in Madison, WI. This role involves providing nursing care to adolescents, adults, and geriatrics with hematology, oncology, and chronic conditions such as neurology, gastrointestinal, and rheumatology. The RN will be responsible for medication administration, patient assessments, and infusion services in a fast-paced outpatient environment.

Job Details

• Schedule: Shift hours are from 8:00am to 4:00pm, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, at least 2 years of recent oncology and infusion experience, OSN/ONCC certification, BLS certification from the American Heart Association, and experience with adult patients, AED, immunizations, infusion, lab interpretation, medication reconciliation, oxygen administration, pain assessment, patient teaching, pediatric care, pulse oximetry, venipuncture, universal precautions, and Urinalysis.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Epic charting system, inpatient RN experience, and telemetry knowledge.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: The RN will care for patients with diagnoses including hematology, oncology, and chronic conditions, with an average census of 120 patients daily. The unit is equipped with ultrasound and vein viewer devices for IV placements, and no special procedures are performed on the unit. All candidates must pass a telemetry exam with strict criteria, including identification of lethal rhythms and questions on heart blocks, with up to three attempts allowed.
